DOILY_Between Meal Centerpiece 1917

February 17, 2013;

TADA!  I am finished the Between Meal Centerpiece doily!  Here are the latest pics.  Thanks for stopping by my blog!  :)

I could not help showing off at this point!

February 14, 2013:

More progress has been made on my Between Meal Centerpiece.  I feel like I am in the home stretch and can see the light at the end of the tunnel!  It has been years since I made a doily like this, except back 2007 when I made one of this pattern on a threaddicts yahoogroups CAL (crochet-a-long).

In this picture, I have nearly completed round 55 and there are 60 rounds in this pattern.

February 7, 2013:

Got some more done on the Between Meal Centerpiece doily at lunch today.  I am on round 41 right now and it is coming along nicely.  Here is the latest "progress" picture:

January 31, 2013:

Hi everyone and good morning!

I have started another one of these beautiful doilies called, "Between-Meal Centerpiece.". Back in 2007 I made one of these in white size 10 crochet thread, but I must have given it away since I could not find it to photograph it. So....this gives me an excuse to make another one.

I am just getting started here; got a long way to go!

I have not decided if I am going to trim it in another color or not; I will just see what mood I am in when I get to the outer rounds. The previous one was white and trimmed in light pink on last two rounds.

As of this morning, I am on round 18. My favorite round to make is 49. It is the longest-seeming round but I like the overall look of this round in this doily.

I am using that "nasty rough" Red Heart size 10 crochet cotton thread and a Hamanaka crochet hook size 2/0. This is NOT good thread..give me my Aunt Lydia's thread any day!!

This pattern was originally published in a 1917 publication called, Corticelli Lessons In Crochet. In 1987, it was republished in the magazine (unfortunately out of print now), Old-Time Crochet.

I got involved with it on the Threadaddicts mailng list over at Yahoogroups. In 2007, this was their first crochet-a-long project. Unfortunately the pattern for this doily is no longer om the internet, but I still have my pdf copy at my 4Shared site at:

http://www.4shared.com/office/T-gMZtGl/Between_Meal_Centerpiece_1917_.html

For the Corticelli book, visit antiquepatternlibrary.org and click the Catalogue link at the top of the page. :)

Have fun if you decide to try this pattern!

Kindest Regards,
Lee Ann H
