Knitting, I'm learning!

November 25, 2015, 3:00 pm CST:

I am learning how to knit at this very moment!‎    I found a very good video on the YouTube channel, americanknitter.‎  This lady has some very good instructions!

I'm getting used to knitting but I find crochet is much easier, probably because crochet is what I first learned to do.  While I was casting on, my left hand started to cramp, but it stopped after a while.

So for today, I learned to cast on, do a knit stitch and do a purl stitch.   I can see how the purl stitch in knitting is similar to a tunisian crochet purl stitch.

This is turning out to be so much fun.    I think I have another yarn craft to look forward to!    Yipee!

  1. I taught myself with help of a you tube video as well. I learned to crochet first and knitting came easier to me once I got used to both hands moving. Glad you are learning a new craft, I am learning Tunisian just for that reason. Thanks for sharing with us.

  2. You may find casting on with two needles easier, on the left hand. It makes a good neat edge. Use the rh needle as though you were making a knit stitch, but instead of slipping the it off at the end, transfer it to the left hand needle. A refinement is to put the rh needle through between the last two stitches made.

    1. Yes! It is a lot of fun. I love using my 8.0 and 9.0 mm needles. :)
