<br />
This is a prayer to St. Jude Thaddeus which helped me out many times with things which seem impossible to attain.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;">
Say it 6 times per day for 9 consecutive days.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" id="SignatureBox" style="margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;">
<div dir="ltr" style="font-size: 9pt; font-style: italic; margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;">
Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use of that particular privilege given to you to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="font-size: 9pt; font-style: italic; margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="font-size: 9pt; font-style: italic; margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;">
Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and the help of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly,</div>

<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="font-size: 9pt; font-style: italic; margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;">
and that I may praise God with you and all the Elect forever.</div>

<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="font-size: 9pt; font-style: italic; margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0;">
I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen.</div>

Thursday, July 7, 2016:<br />
<br />
I have to post this brownie recipe I made for the 4th of July This week. These were delicious and everyone loved them. Plus, they are nutritious too since it uses the superfood, cacao (not cocoa), and black beans instead of traditional white flour as in most recipes.<br />
<br />
Enjoy!<br />
<br />
<br />
Flourless Black Bean Brownies. :)<br />
<br />
One 15 oz. can (1 3/4 cups) black beans, well rinsed and drained<br />
2 large eggs<br />
3 tbls coconut oil, melted<br />
3/4 cup cAcAo powder-not cOcOa if you want these to be nutritious (I use Hershey's cAcAo)<br />
1/4 tsp sea salt<br />
1 tsp pure vanilla extract<br />
One heaping 1/2 cup birch/hardwood xylitol, slightly ground or pulsed in a food processor or coffee grinder for refined texture<br />
1 1/2 tsp baking powder<br />
Optional topping: chopped raw pecans or raw almonds.<br />
<br />
Instructions:<br />
<br />
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.<br />
Muffin tin (regular-size): Grease with coconut oil or line with muffin papers.<br />
<br />
Rinse your black beans and drain well.<br />
Place beans and eggs in a food processor and pulse a few times to get the beans chopped and eggs mixed in.<br />
<br />
Add remaining ingredients (except nuts) and run on high about 3 minutes. You will need to stop and scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula during this.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlvPKIpa5USM0FOuahf8ygKFev0EIUAdRs5DyCwhBe4Z3BG6SnXE-hVLt78_gTdEp8e0m305z8sijirwA27v0q1tbVEpVqePCsqm2cpWZdPIxGjWX9tCPk2MysLg2F53Ce-MrrXbleIyko/s1600/20160704_105142.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlvPKIpa5USM0FOuahf8ygKFev0EIUAdRs5DyCwhBe4Z3BG6SnXE-hVLt78_gTdEp8e0m305z8sijirwA27v0q1tbVEpVqePCsqm2cpWZdPIxGjWX9tCPk2MysLg2F53Ce-MrrXbleIyko/s320/20160704_105142.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The batter should be the consistency of a typical cake frosting. If it's too thick, add water a little at a time.<br />
<br />
Spoon into muffin tin and add toppings if desired.<br />
<br />
Bake for 20-26 minutes or until the tops are dry and the edges start to pull away from the sides, about 20 to 25 minutes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKcvAgJ9GvBtPmIypwpqr648Jpl23Cg33_nVQJqogkPL9dVD798GPG3xYMPdqqK6g0Or2rfvxVKM_YuTFpU3mfvyNw6BFwoC_F72p4eFruV9MkONmzeZDyykUrsvp4NsVk13OI67s0ad3o/s1600/20160704_112802.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKcvAgJ9GvBtPmIypwpqr648Jpl23Cg33_nVQJqogkPL9dVD798GPG3xYMPdqqK6g0Or2rfvxVKM_YuTFpU3mfvyNw6BFwoC_F72p4eFruV9MkONmzeZDyykUrsvp4NsVk13OI67s0ad3o/s320/20160704_112802.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Remove from oven and let cool for 30 minutes.<br />
<br />
Store in an airtight container or refrigerate them, if you like. The batch I made didn't last a day and everyone loved them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpE3Q7LKTT5XN3MTCXkeQJxQ39WkS98dJ_Sl7IL1iKU7oM0oVkMd4Fi-ncw-t2WJYHK54B9BAFzDBDZ7krU_3FgQmHGXzxTUpfVyGDsuT1MZnDy-GPpKAypn4tUwDxkYVkyE20tCf6pOiG/s1600/20160704_114557.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpE3Q7LKTT5XN3MTCXkeQJxQ39WkS98dJ_Sl7IL1iKU7oM0oVkMd4Fi-ncw-t2WJYHK54B9BAFzDBDZ7krU_3FgQmHGXzxTUpfVyGDsuT1MZnDy-GPpKAypn4tUwDxkYVkyE20tCf6pOiG/s320/20160704_114557.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
Optional coconut frosting:<br />
<br />
1 can unsweetened full-fat (not lite) coconut milk ("Thai Kitchen" or "A Taste Of Thai" brands are good choices without a lot of unhealthy preservatives)<br />
1/4 cup plus 1 tbls cAcAo powder<br />
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract<br />
1/4 cup birch/hardwood xylitol<br />
<br />
Place can of coconut milk in the refrigerator several hours or overnight so that the healthy fat can harden.<br />
<br />
Open coconut milk (do not shake the can prior to opening).<br />
Spoon out only the creamy part into a bowl (use remaining delicious juice in other things such as smoothies and such).<br />
<br />
Using a fork or handheld mixer, whip in your cocoa, vanilla, and sweetener until well mixed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPNQkZzK2A-ETBB0jG6mawDZgM5lWO1YtbJjVe608J6yvLv9iLRPxydtUQKd01aZbd5DTYs_Dget5TkLfXAZbnVNly5KM9O0p0KbdnSlrWwawizQi1Rhr0LLGBn1IodP7Npz7MPlED0uED/s1600/20160704_124339.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPNQkZzK2A-ETBB0jG6mawDZgM5lWO1YtbJjVe608J6yvLv9iLRPxydtUQKd01aZbd5DTYs_Dget5TkLfXAZbnVNly5KM9O0p0KbdnSlrWwawizQi1Rhr0LLGBn1IodP7Npz7MPlED0uED/s320/20160704_124339.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Top your brownies and store in the refrigerator to thicken the frosting.<br />
Then, enjoy later.</div>

A-ha! I finally got the hang of changing colors in the middle of a row while knitting with two needles! It's a snap in crocheting, but knitting just had me stumped, especially since I've only been knitting since December of last year. LOL. </div>
<div style="background-color: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: rgb(0 , 0 , 0); font-family: "verdana" , "lucida sans unicode" , "lucida grande" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding: 0px; word-wrap: break-word;">
Thank goodness the pattern is only knit and purl, since those are the only stitches I know so far. </div>

This has been more fun following a block chart and working with two colors. Reminds me of filet crocheting and crochet moez. </div>
<div style="background-color: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: rgb(0 , 0 , 0); font-family: "verdana" , "lucida sans unicode" , "lucida grande" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding: 0px; word-wrap: break-word;">
<br style="font-size: 1em; line-height: 1em;" />
On the third row, I was having my doubts if the hat would turn out well but I kept going. Now, I'm glad I didn't give up on it! </div>
<div style="background-color: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: rgb(0 , 0 , 0); font-family: "verdana" , "lucida sans unicode" , "lucida grande" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding: 0px; word-wrap: break-word;">
<br style="font-size: 1em;" />
This is my progress on the Totoro Hat which I found on Ravelry (<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/totoro-hat-6" style="color: #666666;">http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/totoro-hat-6</a>). I also watched the video for this hat on youtube and it was quite helpful. :)</div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgb(255 , 255 , 255); color: rgb(0 , 0 , 0); font-family: "verdana" , "lucida sans unicode" , "lucida grande" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">I used some old Natura Wintuck worsted weight acrylic yarn for this hat. This yarn hasn't been made in years and someone recently gave me this old yarn. I accepted graciously because I never turn down yarn! :)</span></div>

<br /><br />
This looks like an excellent way to join two yarns together to either continue the same color or start a new color.<br /><br />
<br /><br />
I don't know about you, but I really don't like sewing ends into my work, especially into work in which it is hard to hide the ends, like lace crochet or knitting!.<br /><br />
<br /><br />
This joining technique opens a lot of options!<br /><br />

<div style="white-space: pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;">
I figured it out with the help of my son....how to upload a pdf file to ravelry and for other people to be able to download it. </div>
<div style="white-space: pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;">
<br /></div>
<div style="white-space: pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;">
It wasn't easy and it took about 30 minutes to get it working right, but there is a loom knit baby hat pattern I created! Yippee! </div>
<div style="white-space: pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;">
<br /></div>
<div style="white-space: pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;">
So, if you make hats for a hospital or want to make some as gifts and such, this is a good basic loom knit pattern! :)</div>
<div style="white-space: pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;">
<br /></div>
<div style="word-wrap: break-word;">
<div style="white-space: pre-wrap;">
See this link for pattern:</div>

My first pattern I published on Ravelry.com! </div>

I gotta say though that getting the pdf link active on ravelry was not an easy task. Seemed like I had to go round in circles and kept running into obstacles at every turn.</div>
<div class="pattern_author rsp_hidden" style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Grande', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 1.1em; margin-top: -10px;">

I decided on this hat pattern, Fitted Beanie-Easy Knit Pattern at therainbowwarrior.org. </div><div style="white-space:pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;"><br></div><div style="white-space:pre-wrap; word-wrap: break-word;">Check it out! I'm knitting! . This "die-hard " crocheter has discovered the joy of knitting needles and taught herself how to knit a little this Thanksgiving week! Yeah!<br><br>I was glad to figure out one thing in the directions which might be an omission. After making the ribbed cuff, it says to "K across all rows". Doesn't that make a garter stitch with purl and knit stitches on both sides?<br><br>Anyway, I looked it up on YouTube and decided that she must have meant Stockinette stitch for the rest of the hat. I learned that this means knit stitches on one side and pulls on the other.<br><br>After this hat is made, I am going to duplicate this in Tunisian crochet using the same yarn and the same size hook; I want to see how the pieces look side-by-side and see if the are the same size or not.<br><br>One thing that I am unsure about with knitting is that unlike crochet or tunisian crochet, the project is always on the needle(s) and it's not possible to try it on for size halfway through the project. I'm just not that good at knitting yet, to get a feel for how big it really is while still on the needles. I guess that comes with practice. Here's our fur baby, Cora wearing this hat I made for her.. But it's a little small on her. where the cuff part sits on her head.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So, I tried it on my mom's doggy, Sugar. It fit her better but she shook it off pretty quickly.</div>

This dog hat is easy and fun to make and works up quickly. Here is where I found it: </div>

<br />
September 29, 2015:<br />
<br />
I finally came up with a way to do a tunisian crochet finishing gather such as at the top of a hat, instead of doing several rows of decreases. Yippee! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is for a hat worked in rows using a regular tunisian or afghan stitch crochet hook. I have not figured out how to do this with a double-ended tunisian hook, but that would be a neat thing to figure out.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In this particular example, I am using the "I Love This Yarn" by Hobby Lobby (worsted weight #4 yarn), and a size M/N, 9.00 mm, US #13 size tunisian hook</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">My tunisian decreases don't look too good and I like the look of this pulled gather much better anyway.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">I have a <a href="https://youtu.be/3wxxvDeBJ7U" target="_blank">video of how to do this pulled gather on my YouTube channel</a>, if you would like to see this. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;"><a href="http://youtu.be/3wxxvDeBJ7U">http://youtu.be/3wxxvDeBJ7U</a></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">On the last row of your work and after completing the forward pass, you simply pull through all of those loops on your hook at one time instead of working them off two at a time.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">That's it; it's very simple to do. I thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you view and enjoy the video too.</span></div>
<div>

<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">
I love this hat pattern from Kim's website, http://crochetkim.com !</div>

<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">
It's so easy to make and works up very quickly. </div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">
I used two hook sizes. A size M/N (9.00 mm) for the body of the hat and a size H (5.00 mm) for the brim. I love the way this brim is made on this hat pattern. </div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">
You don't need to make this with a fancy yarn, just a basic acrylic will do in a size #4 worsted weight.</div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif;">

<div>
Well, I finished the hat today! I love that Purl stitch. It takes a little more effort to do the purls, but it is worth it!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I made this with Red Heart Super Saver in the color, Medium Sage and I used a 6.0 mm hook (J or US #10).</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And since I used the RH Super Saver yarn, I made my base chain 62 and this is fine for an adult-sized hat.</div>

September 9, 2015:<br />
<br />
I finished my Fortune's Shawlette CAL today! I love this pattern and it's well-written. The chart is so easy to read too! This was fun to make!<br />
<br />
I used two full skeins plus part of a third one), of Debra Norville Serenity sock yarn in the color, Hibiscus. This is a #1 fingering-weight yarn.<br />
<br />
And I used the recommended size J/6.0 mm hook too. The Japanese hook size is 10/0.<br />
<br />
This particular Crochet-A-Long is part of the CrochetKim Facebook group. </div>
